Product Manager

Job description

We’re looking for a unique individual to join our team to help us hone our products and discover opportunities beyond our first go-to-market focus. If you have a keen interest in 3D, computational imaging, machine learning and developing exemplary API interfaces, you’ll love working with our team.

Who are we and what do we do?

We are a rapidly growing team looking for people who share our passion for developing solutions at the intersection of imaging and depth. AIRY3D has developed DepthIQ™, a 3D computer vision platform that consists of a Transmissive Diffraction Mask and computational imaging software that can convert any camera sensor into a versatile 3D sensor at a fraction of the manufacturing cost.

Based in Montreal, AIRY3D recently raised US$10 million in series A funding led by Intel Capital. This financing will allow AIRY3D to advance its licensing roadmap for the first commercial adoptions of DepthIQ 3D by top-tier consumer electronics companies in mobile and other markets such as automotive and AR/VR.

What are we looking for?

As a product manager, you are responsible for creating Airy3D’s single sensor depth solution across every image sensing market.

This role is the glue that binds our product strategy to the tactics we need to create successful products and solutions with our customers and to achieve results. You will be the product evangelist and will play an integral role in organizing product launches, to assure the correct products are created with the correct features at the correct time. You know how to set and drive to clear priorities and deliverables across the organization.

You know our competitors like the back of your hand: what they do today and what they plan to do in the future. You also know our partners better than they know themselves. This isn’t guesswork. You back up strategic insights with market evidence and then use that knowledge to drive the development of products that resonates with buyers and empowers our sales channels to be successful.

An attention to detail and eye for quality are critical to your success, along with an ability to grasp and conceive of features that resonates with our customers. You are obsessed with tracking performance and have the data to prove what’s working and what isn’t.

In addition to the management team, you will regularly collaborate with engineering teams, R&D efforts, application engineering and project and senior management; it’s a balancing act that requires strong diplomatic skills, including knowing when to push back and when to dive in.

What you will do:

  • Market Intelligence - be the expert in the emerging smart imaging market opportunities, and needs
  •  Understand the customer - Have a deep understanding of customer experience, identify and fill product gaps and generate new ideas that grow market share, improve customer experience and drive growth
  • Understand the competitive landscape—be an expert on our competition and how they are positioned.
  • Understand how to empower internal teams – Have a strong ability to set clear expectations, priorities, and resourcing trade-offs to achieve timely awe-inspiring deliverables.
  • Develop product roadmaps, MRDs and PRDs
  • Translate company and product strategy into detailed requirements and prototypes
  • Create buy-in for the product vision both internally and with key external partners
  • Scope product activities based and ensure clear priorities based on business and customer impact
  • Work closely with development, AE and advanced research teams to deliver with quick time-to-market and optimal resources
  • Support product launches including working with public relations team, sales, marketing, FAE and executives
  • Evaluate promotional plans to ensure that they are consistent with product line strategy and that the message is effectively conveyed
  • Act as a product evangelist to build awareness and understanding
  • Represent the company by visiting customers to solicit feedback on company products and services
